MLSEA

Marine Life and Sea Enthusiasts Association

Information

We are a group of computer science researchers and marine biology enthusiasts with the idea of establishing the computer science group for marine biology at the University of the Azores. Further information on the research group will be available on the official group webpage. We have come a long way so far but we keep pushing to make the world a more joyful place for all aquatic animals and those who love them.

News and Updates

04/2018 — With almost the full cast we have successfully completed an expedition to the Southern Patagonian Ice field and Antarctica. Next to our usual focus on local wildlife (and this time penguins in particular) we had the chance to research and inspect the evalution of Chile's glaciers.

03/2017 — Quick trip to the gulf region. We are planing an expedition in order to research manatees (~2020). Chris has been traveling there to beat the bush beforehand. Stay tuned.

03/2016 — A small delegation of the MLSE Association has recently travelled to the dominican republic. The focus of this year's expedition was lying on the mating habits of humpback whales: The bay of Samana represents a unique environment to study and keep track of these fascinating creatures.

03/2015 — We returned safe and sound from our expedition to the shore of south Brazil. The complete team of the MLSE Association took part and contributed to the success of this research trip. We returned with valuable insight into the present state of the flora and fauna of Brazil's coasts.
