News and Updates

04/2018 — With almost the full cast we have successfully completed an expedition to the Southern Patagonian Ice field and Antarctica. Next to our usual focus on local wildlife (and this time penguins in particular) we had the chance to research and inspect the evalution of Chile's glaciers.

03/2017 — Quick trip to the gulf region. We are planing an expedition in order to research manatees (~2020). Chris has been traveling there to beat the bush beforehand. Stay tuned.

03/2016 — A small delegation of the MLSE Association has recently travelled to the dominican republic. The focus of this year's expedition was lying on the mating habits of humpback whales: The bay of Samana represents a unique environment to study and keep track of these fascinating creatures.

03/2015 — We returned safe and sound from our expedition to the shore of south Brazil. The complete team of the MLSE Association took part and contributed to the success of this research trip. We returned with valuable insight into the present state of the flora and fauna of Brazil's coasts.

12/2014 — Merry Christmas to you and to us. We just fixed the date and destination for our next group meeting: Feb/ March at the coast line of Brazil. Have a great couple of days and a happy new year!

05/2014 — Expedition to the Silfra crack in the Thingvellir National Park, Iceland. Two of your members had the chance to travel to Iceland and dive in incredible clear waters. Not much aquatic fauna to observe there, though. Nevertheless, it happened to be an impressive change of perspective due to the contrast to diving in a marine environment.

02/2014 — Short trip to San Diego, California. Nancy had the chance to travel to the US and observe marine life in the San Diego Bay area and was able to get insight in the interaction of tourist agencies, there tour guides and dolphines living a drop off shore.

10/2013 — During a research trip to St. Lucia the idea of founding the MLSE Association was born. Dives to the marvelous grounds of the island along the shore as well as the Piton walls inspired us to more strongly commit in preserving marine life and sharing the experiences gathered during our expeditions.
